Airfield Information

You can fly in on the Thursday if you wish but would need to be on the ground by 17:30pm
We would ask where possible that all attending aircraft are on the ground noon latest as we would like to demonstrate some radio controlled autogyro's.

Complimentary Tea and Coffee will be available to all arrivals before noon.
Airfield opens at 9:00am and closes at 6:00pm. FISO is in operation from 10:00am until 17:00pm local time. Aircraft arriving prior to the Tower being manned should make blind calls to Old Warden Traffic.

Aircraft arriving between 10:00am and 17:00pm Should make an initial radio call when 5 miles out. State call sign, aircraft type and position only.
All joins must be overhead as per safety sense leaflet. Only one aircraft on the runway at any one time. http://publicapps.caa.co.uk/docs/33/20130121SSL06.pdf
Aircraft parking will be at the top of the NE corner of the site opposite the restaurant and away from the fuel pumps.

FUEL
100LL will be available throughout the weekend and we are told that the UL91 pump should also be working by then.

STAYING OVER.
Overnight accommodation and camping should be available but we are unable to confirm this yet. Aircraft's can be left overnight but would be at the owners own risk. Leaving on the Saturday or Sunday will be accommodated by FISO but would have to fit in with the Tiger Moth event being held over the weekend.
For those of you who wish to view the collection, Members will have free entry (worth £15.00 per head) Members will also receive a free Meal Deal. Members MUST produce their membership card to take advantage of the offer otherwise staff will be unable to process the transactions.

If you have mislaid your card please contact me asap for a replacement.
LAA members on production of their cards will enjoy the same benefits. Non members will pay a reduced price of £6.00 if they want to take the meal deal.
This one event makes £25.00 to join the British Rotorcraft Association a very good deal.

Please can you let me know by emailing
membership@britishrotorcraftassociation.co.uk if you think, hope or are pretty sure you are flying in. This is really helpful to us for planning, parking, catering etc.

Richard Craske and Mark Shortman from the CAA will also be there to witness this awesome effort and answer any questions you may have regarding the future of autogyroing.......
All gyro's are welcome - its possible we could set a world record for the most gyro's to attend a single UK airfield in one day.

Aerodromo Lagos is holding its 50th Anniversary fly in on 16th-17th May 2015

Aerodromo Lagos is holding its 50th Anniversary fly in on 16th-17th May 2015. Lagos is situated on the South West tip of Europe right on the Atlantic coast. The Algarve in Portugal is a delightful location to fly in with a pleasant climate and stunning landscape. Lagos airdrome has been the home of Algarve Airsports for over 30 years.

The UK school run by Gerry Breen has trained many UK microlight pilots and instructors during this time. More recently Gyrocopter Experience Algarve has set up a school where Kevin Robinson has been operating for the last 3 years. Both of them would be delighted to invite any UK microlight or gyroplane pilots to the event however it would be particularly pleasing to see ex students make the trip.

Anybody who is interested should contact aeroclube.lagos@gmail.com
Details of the event will be posted on the airfield facebook page https://www.facebook.com/events/586694701452892/
